-Ghost Card Audience Review

Feed us a story.

Culture shock. Loss of a parent. Gambling addiction. A psychedelic gnome. These and other stories came to life in Ghost Card, a site-responsive movement collage of crowdsourced true stories at NYC’s Hudson River Park and Socrates Sculpture Park in 2016.

Ghost Card featured 28 true stories prompted by the word “table,” which were revealed in chance order through an interactive game of cards played between a band of “hungry ghosts” and the audience. The ghosts “fed” on the stories through movement, improvisation and spoken text, augmented by a digital deck of cards and immersive story soundscape accessible via smartphone.

Created and directed by Megan Weaver and Hassan Christopher. Choreography by Hassan Christopher in collaboration with the ensemble. Costumes by Anastasia Schneider/enfant gâté. Featuring Two Too Large Tables by Allan and Ellen Wexler.
